In otherwords create the new registry keys/value under that.If that doesn't work, then create brand new key with the full path as given.only other thought... you are trying to install the full 1.41 patch and not the incremental?
I might find it weird that people don't read whole threads about a topic they think they have knowledge about. Just because you read the title, doesn't mean you have the answer. I've read over 10 complaints about this issue so far and have found the same genius come along with the Registry fix. If you read, Idk, the first post; he already tried that. It didn't work. Now if someone else on here found that it was a solution, please come back and share with us your splendors. I've renamed my files, changed the string thread and registry paths so the install wizard would recognize the file path. Almost ever thing I find doesn't work. -I am running on XP -I play new EA games so I have two folders from Crysis and BF2142, and the older EA games folder, and the new Electronic Arts folder. -BF2[BF1942] is installed on the older EA games folder -I come up with the error "can't find install folder for Battlefield2" -I have tried copies from 3 sources for the patch. 1.EA download LINK 2.EA BF2 Download host site 3.Anonymous DL site. If anyone could please leave a descriptive fix to the problem for all others seeking help, and myself, all time appreciated.
If you have the time, try adding BF2 to your Origin library. The origin version comes fully patched and ready to go with all of the expansions. Don't worry about other mods, they are still compatible with the origin download. I downloaded a few from moddb.com and they worked perfectly.If Origin denies your key, you will need to use the live chat with EA to have someone give you a new one. You can still use your old BF2 profile.
BF2142 v1.40 Beta ReleasedEA / DICE unexpectedly released v1.40 beta for Battlefield 2142 today. The beta includes Highway Tampa as well as the highly requested autosave feature for kits. Since this is a beta be sure to backup your game before you install this patch.

As a Battlefield Fan who has purchased every Battlefield game and expansion since Battlefield 1942, I have finally got it through my thick skull that EA is going to promise the world before the game is released, then two weeks later announce their next great Battlefield game where they are moving all of the BF2142 coders who could have helped release patches in a timely manner leaving the battlefield community to wonder when we will receive a patch to fix all of the same problems that have been present since Battlefield 1942.
Today at 9am PST FilePlanet will open the Battlefield 2142 beta to the general public. If you do not have a key here is your chance to get one. A new build of the beta is also being released. If you already have the beta, you simply just download the new build from FilePlanet. In order to install the new build you must uninstall the old.
